The Builders category of the Midland Sports Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their sport or discipline. Look no further than Alex and Joanne, who for over 17 years have built a sustainable, inclusive and high performing culture that has shaped countless lives. Their legacy is not measured in medals, but in the confidence, character and connection they cultivate at Driven.
Alex and Joanne have built a community far beyond a training facility. The programs offered at Driven foster qualities that carry into everyday life. The sense of inclusiveness built at Driven is unmatched. Anyone can walk through the doors and be positively motivated to achieve their goals. Their main goal: to inspire others to be the best they can be.
Their dedication and commitment to developing the next generation is instrumental in many youth sporting teams in Midland. Driven helps train countless local hockey, basketball, and volleyball athletes, teaching them discipline far beyond a workout plan. Driven continues to challenge athletes, help build confidence and allow them to believe in their abilities – all built by Alex and Joanne and their immense leadership.
Since the inception of Driven, Alex and Joanne have coached athletes at Provincial, National and International Competitions. They lead by example, having both competed internationally in Olympic Weightlifting and Jiu-Jitsu. Their exceptional leadership was the contributing factor in Driven being chosen to host the Canadian Masters Weightlifting Championships in 2023 and 2026.
In 2026, Driven celebrated 17 years, a remarkable milestone sustained by a community built by Alex and Joanne Jeffrey. Their impact will continue to strengthen Midland for generations.
