I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere congratulations to all the inaugural inductees of the Midland Sports Hall of Fame. There is no greater personal pride than that of being civically honoured by your family, friends and peers for your athletic contributions and achievements in your community. Sports has a way of manifesting the best in people and the presentations this evening exemplify that philosophy. We are honoring the best for the initial inductions into the Midland Sports Hall of Fame. May I also take this opportunity to thank all the Sports Hall of Fame Committee members with whom I have had the pleasure of working during the past 18 months.
